The older version of the APK will allow you to get an invite code for the Jio offer. Even with compatible phones, the option to get an invite does not always appear. You can work your way around it via the older MyJio APK.
In order to install the My Jio app with the APK file and not via the Google Play Store, you need to first enable the installation of apps from sources other than the Play Store. You can accomplish this in the “Security” settings. Once you have done that, you can easily install the previously downloaded APK file.
Turn of internet connectivity. This will prevent the app from seeking updates. Kill all running apps, or you may choose to switch off the phone and start it again. Tap on the My Jio app to open it, do this with the data connectivity still off. The “Get Jio Sim” message will appear. Switch on data. Follow the instructions to get an invitation code. Visit a Reliance store, show them the code and get the SIM.
