Jio, the 4G broadband network, introduced by Reliance Digital promises to alter the communication landscape in India. This all-IP network offers true 4G coverage across 18,000 cities in the country. And, it’s future proof – 5G and 6G ready. There is a mad rush to switch over to Jio. The reason for this is that Jio has gone all out to woo customers with freebies and extremely low tariff rates. These include free voice, no roaming charges, free data at night, and low overall tariffs.

All apps released by Jio are available for both Android and Apple.

My Jio App

The MyJio app lets users manage all their Jio network-related activity and get the best out of the service. Already, the MyJio app has left behind Facebook and Twitter apps in numbers of downloads. My Jio serves as a gateway to other Jio apps. It provides real-time information. For example, you can quickly check usage details and locate the nearest JioNet hotspot to access WiFi. You can generate detailed statements for up to six months, create a Jio ID, connect multiple Jio services to one ID, and do a lot more.

You can access the app on any network by signing in with your Jio ID and password. If you’re using a Jio SIM, you can automatically login to the My Jio app by skipping “Sign In”. With the Jio ID, you can not only access the entire range of apps and services but also manage your account from the Jio website.

The app’s size is 16MB. It was last updated on October 5, 2016. The current version of the app is 3.2.14. It requires Android versions 4.0.3 and above. Mac compatibility requirements are iOS OS 5.1 or higher.

You can access My Jio even when you don’t have any balance left in your Jio account.

Once the Myjio app is up and working, it allows you to access the following apps –

JioCloud – This 13MB file was last updated on September 21, 2016. Current version is 15.1.139. It requires Android 4.0 and above. JioCloud lets you automatically backup files to a secure cloud. You can easily access your files from a tablet, PC, television, or smartphone. Share large files via a secure link even with non-Jio accounts. Organize, sync, and restore data and phone contents from an old phone to a new one.

JioChat – A powerful chatting app, the 26MB sized JioChat was last updated on September 15, 2016. It requires an Android OS of 2.3 and up. The current version is 2.1.5. JioChat allows you to create groups of up to 500 members. Host audio-visual conference calls with five participants. Calls are free to JioChat contacts. JioChat has tied up with brands that now deliver instant messages about the best deals and offers on their products and services. JioChat is free and offers an ad-free experience in all the major Indian languages.

JioTV – With JioTV, you are assured of not missing your favorite prime time programs. Catch them at your convenience. The app places programs from 350+ channels across multiple languages at your disposal. Swipe the screen to shift channels. Share your favorite programs across social media. Lock device screen to watch the program without disturbance. Pause and play at your convenience, mark favorites, and set reminders. JioTV offers a lot of freedom in how you enjoy content. The current version of JioTV is 4.1.17. It has a file size of 15MB.

JioCinema – The app places at your disposal more than 100,000 hours of content in HD. Watch your favorite movies from Bollywood and Hollywood any time and on any device. 4G streaming ensures a seamless experience that is ad-free. Search for movies based on actor, genres, film titles, and other keywords. Watch a movie on one device, take a break, and pick up from where you left on another device.  Check out the works of your favorite actors and directors with one tap. Current version – 1.2.6.

JioMusic – JioMusic, formerly JioBeats, lets you listen to and download your favorite songs in multiple languages, totally free of cost. That’s a big difference between Jio and other apps.  And these goodies are not for a time period, you can enjoy the latest chartbusters and golden classics forever. It’s a cool advantage of owning a Jio SIM. Curated radio stations, HD music up to 320 kbps, sync music across devices, exciting options to play songs, and many more features that make this app a must download.

JioMags – Read magazines on your tablets and smartphones. Browse, read, and download for reading offline; select from the best national and international magazines across more than 15 categories; the app also lets you enjoy videos, podcasts, and presentations; activate the auto delete feature to save space; put on your earphones, sit back, and let Jio read out to you; sync magazines across devices; and receive notifications. JioMags has a filesize of 18MB. It was last updated on October 10, 2016.

Jio4GVoice – The app, earlier known as JioJoin, upgrades a non-VoLTE 4G phone to VoLTE capabilities. With this app, you can deliver HD voice and video calls to any phone anywhere in the world. Add an image, location, and a message to your voice calls. You can access chat and SMS in the same window and even share content while over call. Engage in an audio conference with up to 6 participants and video conference with 4 participants.

JioMoney – A payment solution that frees you from carrying a wallet. Select recipients, receive money, pay bills on time, and do it all from this one single app. Recharge your mobile for all major carriers, pay insurance premiums, DTH charges, shop online, earn loyalty points, and learn about great deals and discounts. JioSecurity – The app gives you peace of mind. It ensures security of all sensitive information that you store on your mobile device.
